Frequently Asked Questions

When is the IRS Exam administered?

The IRS exam is administered each year from May through February. The current exam year started May 1, 2011 and will end February 29, 2012. There is no testing in March or April.

Are the WiseGuides Study Guide materials updated for the current exam?

Yes. The Lesson Books, Question & Answer Software, and Internet materials were updated in March 2011 to align with the current exam period May 1, 2011 through February 29, 2012. The current year's exam questions are based on tax law as of December 31, 2010. The EA Exam questions are always based on the prior year's tax law.

Is there a difference between the content in the Lesson Books and the Internet eCourse Lesson?

Each year the content in the Lesson Books (hard copy books) and the Internet eCourse Lessons starts out the same. However, as the exam year progresses and we become aware of new subtopics appearing on the exam, we udpate the Internet eCourse Lessons and Internet Questions & Answers to include the new subtopics. One of the advantages of using our Internet study materials is that it is based on the most up-to-date information available on the exam. Another great advantage of using our Internet study materials is that the eCourse Lessons are fully searchable, which provides the most efficient study process.

What is the difference in the updates for the Internet study materials and the offline study materials?

The major difference is that the offline study materials are targeted to prepare you for the current exam year which runs from May 1, 2011 through February 29, 2012. Since the subscriptions to the Internet eCourse Plus and eCourse Premium study materials are updated for 12 months from the date of purchase, your one year subscription access may span over portions of two exam years, based on your purchase date. For example, if you purchased the Internet eCourse Plus or eCourse Premium on July 1, 2011, you will have access to current study material through July 1, 2012 and it will span over portions of two test cycles. If you purchased the Lesson Books on July 1, 2011, the Lesson Books will be current until February 29, 2012 as the content is targeted to prepare you for the current exam year which will end February 29, 2012.

What percentage of your customers pass the exam?

That is an excellent question. Due to privacy issues (exam scores are not public knowledge), there is no way we could honestly state a pass rate for our customers. We are aware that a few of our colleagues cite pass rates in their marketing materials. However, there is truly no way anyone would have a statistically valid pass rate unless all of their customers' scores were reported and tracked.

Most of our sales are referrals from successful IRS EA Exam candidates who used and recommended our product to their colleagues as comprehensive, up-to-date, cost effective, and efficient study materials to help PASS the Enrolled Agent Exam on the first try.

Our Internet eCourse Plus and eCourse Premium study materials come with a GUARANTEE TO PASS. We have helped candidates pass the EA Exam on the first try for over thirteen years and we know what it takes to pass this exam. Our exam candidates are coached to follow certain study protocols. Over the past two years, we have had only two (yes, just two) students exercise their guarantee. That's a pretty good track record, wouldn't you agree? Click here to read the guarantee.
